13 September 2012: At a glittering event in London attended by many British travel industry heavyweights, Cruise International magazine announced their 2012 Reader Awards. Cunard Line won the award for Best Food.

The award was in particular recognition of the superb dining experience being offered by Chef Zimmermann's "The Verandah" aboard Cunard's newest ship: Queen Elizabeth.  Master of Ceremonies Giles Brandreth added a personal touch to the win by saying how much he himself had enjoyed the culinary talents of Cunard's Culinary Ambassador Jean-Marie Zimmermann.

Welcome...  I am Chef Jean-Marie Zimmermann, from Strasbourg in the Alsace-Lorraine region of France and now residing in the Bordeaux countryside. My career spans more than thirty years in leading restaurants, hotels and luxury ocean liners.

I have most recently been the Corporate Executive Chef for Cunard Line - operators of the World’s Most Famous Ocean Liners™ Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth; and remain with Cunard as a consultant chef internationally recognized as their Global Culinary Ambassador.
